• BOTTOMFISH

    THE FISH STORY

  • The art of bottom fishing targets fish near the sea floor. Fishing with a heavy sinker and baited hook we harvest species such as snapper and grouper. Maintaining a tight line and our patience is key while feeling for any subtle bites.

  • we frequent the local reefs and ledges of the west coast of Puerto Rico for our bottom fishing. these are areas known to be free of Ciguatera, which is a harmful toxin found in fish in other parts of the island. We wait for calm days which allow us to maintain our position in the water and target your fish effectively.

  • As always our catch is immediately dispatched, gutted and put on clean, food grade ice. Removing the guts is an important step when catching fish because it prevents the spreading of bacteria. The catch will stay packed on ice until we return to port where we will fillet and immediately vacuum seal for ultimate freshness. the remnants of the fish are returned to the ocean as chum.
